My Emotions, His Mind

Today’s society can be more reactionary than godly in our daily responses to life. I know I can sometimes be unkind in the way I react instantly to situations that are difficult. As I am growing in His grace, it is my desire to be what author Tommy Newberry calls a “proactive thinker.” However, that is a difficult thing to do when I am not actively pursuant of His Word. Learning to look to Christ, and, no matter what is going on around us, choose the path of wisdom-reaction is what He guides us to do. Now, I’m not saying it will be a breeze to do this, I’m just saying it’s what He has called us to do as His children. We are to be ambassadors of Christ, and honestly, who listens to an unkind, hateful and rude Ambassador? No one, that’s who! Learning to lean on Him, learning to look to Him, and above all, learning to love like Him, is where we find the ability to remain joyful and kind. His ways are higher than ours, His thoughts are too. Surrendering, allowing Him to delegate our emotions and reactions, invites others to get to know our King. And, oh what an honor it is to represent a King such as He.

To be like You…
