Julie Heath is one of my favorite people! Her heart for Christ is humble, gracious, and passionate! Julie’s life is a powerful testimony of God’s redeeming love and pursuit after His child’s heart. She is an incredibly gifted writer whose wisdom is filled with James 3:17 direction. I am blessed to have the opportunity to share one of her most popular blog posts, Finding Our Voices as Christian Writers.

Here is a tiny excerpt from that beautifully written wisdom:

As Christian writers, finding our voice is about identifying with the voice of Christ. Who are we in Christ? How does Jesus change everything?

Well, I have learned one way Jesus changes everything is that I no longer have to be a victim of my heart and thoughts. My heart left to itself can lead me astray.

“The heart is deceitful above all things, and desperately wicked: who can know it?

Jeremiah 17:9

Our writer’s voice cannot simply be a translation of the heart, but it needs to be tempered by the Holy Spirit as He leads.

We can capture our thoughts and feelings and let God’s Word be the filter through which we write…what does God’s Word say is true?

I encourage every writer explore not only the featured post, but the other ones as well.

My sweet sister in Christ has been challenging me for the past 8 years to seek the Lord with all my heart, soul and might with statements like this:

Each of our stories are different, but we have the same Almighty God.  He knows each of our hearts. With Him all things are possible!

and she inspires me as a writer with admonishments such as this:

Our voices can speak for the glory of God as we share our faith through the words we write.

We find our voice as Christian writers by yielding our hearts to the leading of the holy spirit.

I encourage you to read not only the featured post, but browse through the others as well. As you get to know this incredible woman of God, I promise you will be blessed.

Blessings and thanks,
